STORY
A LEGACY OF CREATIVITY.
The journey of JFC traces it's transformation from a local event into a globally recognized cultural phenomenon.
Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) is a cultural marvel that began in 2003 in the bustling streets of Jember, East Java, Indonesia.
Despite early challenges, Dynand Fariz’s determination transformed it into a cultural marvel. The inaugural parade featured local participants in homemade costumes, setting the stage for what JFC would become.
As JFC gained national attention, it's costumes grew in creativity, drawing inspiration from various themes. International acclaim followed, with JFC showcasing Indonesian culture at global events like Singapore’s Chingay Parade and Seychelles’ Carnaval de Victoria.
Community involvement has been key to JFC’s success, uniting local designers, artists, students, and volunteers, which has boosted Jember’s cultural and economic development.
Over the years, JFC has evolved with fresh themes that reflect social and cultural issues, keeping it relevant and exciting. Dynand Fariz’s visionary leadership made JFC Indonesia’s premier fashion event, inspiring future generations even after his passing in 2019.
Today, JFC symbolizes creativity and community spirit, drawing global attention. It continues to innovate and expand it's reach, preserving Dynand Fariz’s legacy.
