Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) is a cultural marvel founded by Dynand Fariz in 2003 on the bustling streets of Jember, East Java, Indonesia.
Despite early challenges, Dynand Fariz’s determination transformed JFC into a cultural marvel. The first parade, featuring locals in handmade costumes, set the stage for what it would become.
As national attention grew, so did the creativity of it's costumes, inspired by diverse themes. JFC soon earned international acclaim, representing Indonesia at global events like Singapore’s Chingay Parade and Seychelles’ Carnaval de Victoria.
Community collaboration became JFC’s foundation, uniting designers, artists, students, and volunteers, driving Jember’s cultural and economic growth.
Over time, JFC evolved with fresh themes reflecting social and cultural issues, keeping it relevant and inspiring. Dynand Fariz’s visionary leadership made it Indonesia’s premier fashion event, inspiring generations even after his passing in 2019.
Began as the dream of Dynand Fariz, JFC today stands as a symbol of creativity and community spirit that captures global attention. It continues to innovate and expand it's reach — a living legacy and home for cultural and creative visionaries.
